Gift shipping sites: Verified Legitimate list?

Is there a list of "verified legitimate" companies online, where you can order goods for your sponsored kids? There is shopzed in Zambia, there is something in India, something in the Philippines, something in urban Guatemala, and so forth.  Perhaps even something on Amazon, which can be shipped overseas.  I hope they can all be listed in one place.

I know that it is usually preferable to send an Extra Gift (which can be spent exactly as the family needs) . But now and then, I like to order something from such a site, especially if it is seldom available elsewhere. Like a doll that is NOT blonde (still, it is often hard to find dolls for the brown or black kids on this site, that is not blonde! I had also heard that in India, the dolls are all baby BOY dolls. If it is culturally allowed, I would like to send a girl doll, in such a case.)

The problem with ordering from sites like Amazon is that we are only really allowed to send 2 "direct packages" a year to our sponsored children. The vendor will have to ship everything in one box and include a note of child's name, id# in order for the field offices to properly deliver to your sponsored children.

What Karen said is true, Amazon can be very problematic that way. I know when India opens up I’m going to be doing direct packages for each of my girls, but because of the issues with Amazon I’m going to have to go through a professional art store and it’s going to cost me 3 times as much! It’s my impression, in general, that unless it’s something specialized, it’s just not worth it and an EG is better. For me this will be worthwhile, because getting my art chics proper art supplies is a nightmare, but for household goods or whatever — forget it.

Having said that… I know a sponsor who has used a book site in India called “Tulika” get their kids a great direct package.
