For former sponsorees (who are adults) if you message on social media: maybe send songs with subtitles (maybe in more than one language). If the content is suitable, perhaps they could choose to share them with local community centers, if they still know people there. ....It could assist with learning English, or reading in general....... I have found a lot of subtitled songs on You Tube.
WARNING: sending material outside the organization, to sponsored kids, or kids but no longer sponsored, is strictly forbidden! Only for adults who USED to be sponsored, who are now adults. by mutual agreement. And be sure to be sensitive about religious and cultural restrictions.
Some I like: Oceano, To Where you Are, Canto Alla Vita, by Josh Groban. Angel by Sarah McLachlan. Some U2, or Bruce Springsteen, or Billy Joel, or John Denver songs. For those known to be Christian, some Christmas carols, or Handel's Messiah.
Oh-- and keep in mind, if you have any contact (outside of official visits through the org) with a formerly sponsored child, you cannot have sponsorships of that person's relatives. Not even a cousin. Something to keep in mind.
