Does anyone know if there is something special going on in Delhi? The wait for new photos and data is very long, so maybe they have other priorities right now?

It’s true that a photo must be taken once every 365 days, but it does not mean they are due in KC as soon as they are taken.  In fact, it behooves the agency to wait and transmit them the day before they are due because it gives them another full 12 months before they need to take another photo.

Each child has a date the photo is due at CIKC and each SOA has their own way of taking photos. Some may take them near the child’s birthday; others will ask an entire sub-project area to come for a photo - no matter what the due date is.

The only rule the SOA’s have for gathering photos is that there are no rules.  Each SOA processes photos in a way that makes sense for them and their specific situation.

The only special thing going on in the Delhi SOA is the amazing growth! We totally appreciate the overwhelming response from sponsors to help the children in Dehli – and as you might have seen in a post on this board last we had over 3,000 kids receiving benefits by the end of 2013!

While this means the staff has experienced some “expansion pains” they are doing a great job of helping the kids, while processing the photos, FR’s, letters, DP reports and memos in a timely manner – but as with all the SOA’s
there can always be delays because everything is done at the family’s convenience.

Thanks, Debbie. With the children I sponsor, I've noticed that there indeed are no rules about when photos and data are updated. Yes, I read about the expansion of services in Delhi. That's wonderful news, because the Delhi children may be one of the neediest groups.

I have now received a new photo and updated information on my other Delhi child, Sania. Big surprise: she has now acquired a last name - which will help her a lot in future - and it turns out that she's 6 instead of 8! The Delhi office must have been doing some detective work and that's perhaps what caused the delays.
