No last name? Cancel Title is required

I just received the welcome packet on Sabra, but there is no last name given in the space provided. Would it be possible she doesn’t have one? It’s the first time I’ve seen a child with no last name. 

My first sponsored child, Sania, from Delhi like yours, had no last name to begin with but received one a couple of years later. They need one eventually for their ID, registrations, etc.

Many of the youth in Delhi are enrolled without a last name, due to the fact that many families do not use them. However, when the guardian provides a copy of the birth record, there is usually a last name, even if it's just the father's first name.  When our staff documents the birth record they will add whatever last name is on the certificate.
