I just started sponsoring a child about 3 weeks ago and wrote to her then, is it normal to wait so long for a response?

I began sponsoring a child on 9/22/14 and received her welcome letter the first week of December. It can take some time so don't worry....it will arrive. ( Usual time is maybe 6 to 8 weeks.)

sometimes it can take up to 3 months for a child and/or sponsor to receive a letter. Also, only two letters per year are required so if and/or when the child/you send three letters, the child is not required to reply. It is also hard for the children to write sometimes if it's the first letter, a very short letter, or a letter without many questions or a decent topic. If you ever realize that you aren't getting letters or updates from/about your child, you should be able to call CI and they can look at your account to see if the child has written you back. :)
