Hi.

I sponsor Alonzdrea. A beautiful 8 year old girl.  Today I. called C I and ask for her height and weight. I want to get the right size clothing. Maybe she wears an 8 or 10 or even a 12.  I ask since she was in a.one parent family what happened to.her mom. Did she leave them did she die?  I was told it. Was personal information and not given to the sponsor. I do not feel any of the information should be kept from the sponsor. My questions were not. Personal. Yes she is in the USA. I.did not ask for her address! I ask for basic information. Why are we not allowed height/weight and what happened to her mom?  Or even just the height/weight?

When the mother of one of my sponsored kids was listed as "too ill to work", I called CI and made an inquiry.   The field agent went to the family and asked if they wished to share this info with me.  They did, and I was subsequently able to send $ to pay for her cancer treatments.   Privacy is important for everyone,  The height and weight is usually on the intro package that you get.   Other sponsors have suggested checking children's sizing charts and getting one size larger.  Hope this helps.

@sharondonnellan1949:  Because Alonzdrea lives in the United States, we are not allowed to ask the children's height and weight due to HIPPA laws. Therefore, it is not listed on their Child Enrollment Profile - and we do not have it in our records in Kansas City either.  Our staff does not weigh them when they are enrolled.

We also do not know what happened to Alonzdrea's mother. The decision to share information about Alonzdrea's mother on the Enrollment Profile was up to Alonzdrea's father when he enrolled her in the program.  Since her mother is listed as "unknown" that means her father chose not to share it.  While the program volunteers may know more, without the permission of Alonzdrea's father, it cannot be shared.

I hope this better explains the situation for you.
