Has anyone ever replaced their child's roof?  Muskan's family lives in a place with plastic sheeting for the roof.  I have no idea if her home is even a "home" or if it's just a makeshift place in an alley somewhere.  She's very new to me so I have limited information.  I just wondered what the cost might be.  From the description it's one multipurpose room, so it shouldn't be too large.  Thanks in advance for any help or advice.

Before considering any building project you need to know if the family owns the home. No improvements are possible if the family doesn't own the home. When you are ready to fund the project you may request that CI ask the family if they are interested in having the improvement and for a cost estimate. It is impossible to predict a general cost because each building project has unique things to be accomplished and costs, (both labor and materials), are time sensitive. (The roofs, which I have replaced, have varied widely in costs.)

Thank you, Nancy! I'm going to find out more about her situation in the near future, and if they own the home....or if it is even a home at all.
I see by your flag you must sponsor in India, so I may ask you questions in the future if you don't mind  :)     Thank you again!

Another thing to keep in mind is that sometimes it's not as simple as just replacing the roof. A heavier roof may require a sturdier structure to support it, which may require the walls and the floor to also be replaced - they may need stronger walls to support the new roof and a stronger floor to support the new walls.

The first thing I like to do is call CI and ask for pictures of the home and an estimate of repairs. Pictures give you a true picture of how the child is living.

After looking at Nancy's photos and seeing the structure one family was living in, I see what you mean about the whole thing might need to be redone.  It's something that would need to looked into, and I'd need to save if that's the case.  Since Muskan is still young there will be time to see what can be done.
Grandpa Nicky, that's an excellent idea, to ask for photos, thank you for the suggestion!
