I just started sponsoring a child in Honduras and I was just wondering how often other sponsors get letters from their children, I understand that the pandemic is causing letter delays.

Replies seem to take about two months to receive from my 9-year-old boy in Honduras.

It has been very frustrating for me to deal with Honduras.  I sponsored a girl from Guatemala and it was a lot of fun. I went to meet her, sent her packages until she graduated.
With Honduras I have only been able to send a package once and worried through out until it finally reach them.  They were not open every day, etc. Then the Pandemia did not make it  any easier.
Hate to drop the child because you care for them but I feel that I'm not making a difference in her life..

I sponsor 3 girls in Honduras and I don't really think it's any different than sponsoring in any other country I have experience with (Guatemala, Colombia or Dominican Republic). Extra Gifts don't take any longer and children don't write any less often. I think that depends more on the child anyways and how interactive they are. For example, I write a few letters a year and one of the girls I sponsor in Honduras writes me a CP letter (not the compulsory twice a year CR letters) every 4 months. Another girl from Honduras writes me only twice a year. The frequency of letters certainly isn't something I would give up sponsoring a child over.
