can someone remind me of what's not allowed in a DP and what is frowned upon (aside from the obvious?) How are hygienic items treated? Also  I'm wondering if listing flashlights and batteries on a customs form would bring attention to a DP and if I'm even allowed to send a pckg of batteries? thank you

I'm not sure about the batteries. I do know, off the top of my head, that decks of cards are not allowed in packages to the Philippines for cultural reasons.

If there is anything that is inappropriate to send or restricted, it is listed in the package address info you received.

I can't offer any suggestions about what to write on customs forms...maybe some other sponsors could share their thoughts.

Whoops! I missed the question about the customs forms. I've never sent a flashlight, but I did send calculators. I listed them on the form, and they arrived without trouble.

The customs forms seem like a catch-22, to me. If you list everything you pack accurately, it can make your package a target for thieves. But if you don't list everything or play down the value and then it is stolen anyway ... well, the only documentation you have is that customs form.

Also, a trick to avoid extra customs fees is to mark the package as a charitable gift.
