Postage cost for CI

Perhaps a question that debbies would like to comment on, reading the information and posts on this site I see that when we send letters/paper gifts etc to the Kansas office post going to each country is put in envelopes and posted this must cost CI a fair amount of money. I wonder is there a way of making a small contribution to that postage cost to ease the financial burden on CI if so would sponsors be willing to send a little payment?

When we receive correspondence for the children we send a shipment weekly via DHL. It's great that you are concerned about our shipping costs, and at any time you can make a donation to our General Fund :-)

Thank you debbies that is a good idea, is there a minimum amount CI will accept I suppose anything helps :-)

scorpio2, I am paying $35 a month for my six sponsorships. The reason is I some time go short on special days or a donation plea. Also I have a lot of irons in the fire concerning my sponsored girls. Uping the monthly sponsorship with autopay, I never miss the small extra.

There is no minimum required to make a donation to our General Fund.

debbies looked all around the site and found no options regarding a general fund I did email support who directed me to the emergency fund but that is not as far as I can tell going to help CI with postage cost or am i wrong.

It doesn’t appear that at this time there is a ‘donate to our general fund’ option on our website or in your online account.  You can give us a call and make a donation to the general fund over the phone, or if you would prefer to make the donation online now, you can give the donation to the emergency fund (again, there is no minimum) and I can reapply the funds.  Just let me know if you do want to go that route and I’ll keep an eye on your account!

@ nickstye, that is a great idea, raising one's own monthly minimum to help cover other irregular things that sometimes get missed.  That is something I will keep in mind.

I recall, that two years ago while searching for an organization to sponsor with, one .org would let people mail anything in a certain size envelope with a $5.00 fee. I wish we could do that. It would be nice to be able to send crayons, colored pencils, puzzle books,and such ever so often.
