Children on the waiting list Cancel Title is required

Are the children on the waiting list children that have never been sponsored before? Have they been waiting for a long time for their first sponsor or for their next sponsor?

The children on the waiting list are a mixture of both, children who have never been sponsored and those that are awaiting a new sponsor.

Are the children notified when they lose a sponsor? Or are they just waiting for a letter until they learn they have a new sponsor??

I have heard that the children are not notified that they have lost their sponsor until they get a new one. It's probably just as well, especially when some sponsors only last a few weeks or months, or if there is a relatively short gap between sponsors. Also, since the majority of sponsors don't write (let alone send SNG/DPs) and the benefits of the program continue, the child in those cases probably wouldn't notice. Better continuity, I think.

Yes, that is correct - the children are only notified they have a new sponsor when they are asked to write their welcome letter.
