Public school changes in Guayaquil, Ecuador

I recently received an education report for one of my sponsored children who is in the 10 th grade in Guayaquil. It said that "the government is making changes in public schools" and it is likely that kids will now have to buy uniforms.

anyone else heard about this? Any further info? I'm wondering how much the uniforms might run, when this change might go into effect? I'd like to be able to support my child around this when it's appropriate to do so....

School changes are a very common occurrence in all the countries we work in.  From the report you received, it sounds as if the child will need a different uniform than the one she had during the last school year.  Since school just began in May, the costs were not available when the report was completed.  If you are interested in providing for the school needs listed in the report you received, I would simply send extra ($30-$50) and ask that it be used for her uniform and any other needs she may have now.
