Children Leaving the Program Cancel Title is required

I wish you could read my mind so I did not have to type this...because I sort of want to know what happened...and I sort of do not.  I guess sponsored teens sometimes do not want to still participate in all activities of the program and then get dropped??? That's what it sounded like in the letter I got....I cannot imagine someone rebelling against someone who is helping them....okay now let's see if I can be technically savvy.  

Yes, occasionally a youth (and their family) will decided to stop their participation in the program. A youth may start working to provide income for the family or even become more involved with their continued education and no longer have time to participate or they may simply decide to no longer want to participate. Our local staff will always do their best to have discussions with the youth and their family, possibly suggest solutions but at the end of the day it is their decision. You can call, chat or email the Care Team - they may be able to provide more insight about your youth's decision.

Cristopher, one of my kids from Ecuador left the program in May of this year after sponsoring him for several years. The local staff ​was trying to reach the family to deliver an EG and found that the family had moved out of the community. I was told that sometimes families move to pursue job opportunities or may no longer be able to stay in their home for various reasons. I was very disappointed because Cristopher wrote to me regularly and appear to be doing well in school, and getting a lot of benefits ​from the program. Hopefully, he will be able to rejoin the program again once his family settles down, assuming that the family will be close to one of the CI community centers. I had requested that CI lets me know if Cristopher rejoins so that I can continue to sponsor him. Regards. ... Javier
