This time I'm visiting two children I sponsor.  One, I have already been to her home - the other I have not.  I'm trying to get ideas for my day of visiting.  It's fast approaching.   I was thinking of doing an activity with BOTH in the morning, and then having lunch.  Afterward going with the one I haven't met yet to see her home.   Can anyone think of an activity pretty close in Guadalajara that won't take the WHOLE day (so I have a few hours with the other one).      Thanks in advance for your time.  (One is 13 and one is 17).  I have met the 13 year old 3 years ago.

CherryBlossom, we took our children to the local mall. They have an amazing arcade in one of the malls with rides and games. We had an assortment of ages from 8 to 16, and all of them had a great time! We spent a few hours there and then had lunch. We then took our children grocery shopping, and then took them back to their homes where we gave them gift bags. I think you would have time to spend with both children at the mall, and then you could accompany the one or both of your youths to their homes. Just remember, the day goes by so fast, so remember to take lots of photos and ask lots of questions! Have a wonderful time, and I hope you will tell us all about it when you get back!

Activities to do on visits: There are many activities one can do. It is had to imagine but the malls there are impressive and the arcade was a lot of fun. We have also gone bowling which was a lot of fun too. The aquarium is impressive as well. It has a trampoline gym, laser tag, petting zoo and bird aviary and was adding an arcade. I think next time the destination is the zoo. But one could also bring some soccer balls and go to a park and do lunch. Our youths had never done any of these activities. We have done one on one outings but the youth really come alive in group outings. We let the youths decide and it is fun to watch the interaction as they discuss and come up with a selection and then off we go. The zoo was at the top of the list until they found out about laser tag. Unfortunately with the pandemic visiting is not possible. So it is fun to write about and reflect on prior visits.
