Guate sponsorship--how long for reply?

So I signed up in November to sponsor a child and have not received anything yet (mid January) from my sponsored child.  I wrote a letter to her thru the website in Nov., sent a SNG in Dec., even mailed a package in Dec… but no response, picture, or letter.  Feeling a little disappointed/frustrated…

I would call CI representative. Keep in mind it takes about 30 days give or take for a child to receive our letters.  Trust me waiting is the hardest part!  Go under FAQ Tab top right corner of page.  Typically, I allow 8 to 10 weeks to receive a letter from SNG -now I guess it is called Extra Gift.

When will my child receive my Extra Gift?
For gifts of $100 or more, the process begins with instructions being immediately sent to the local field agency. If required, arrangements are made to meet with the family to discuss their needs. Usually items are purchased and delivered within 30 days. For gifts between $50 and $100, most field agencies work on a quarterly schedule, usually March, June, September and December.

Also, read this awesome Blog regarding sending letters to our kids.  Hang in there I am certain something is on its way!!

Good Luck and Welcome Aboard.

My first Guatemala letter came about 65 days from the sign up date.  The same turnaround for gift responses over $100.

@douglasdemo – Firstly, welcome to Children International! I’m so sorry your sponsorship experience has started out leaving you a little disappointed and definitely understand the frustration in having to wait to hear back from your child. The good news is we just received the follow-up from your special donation, and I just put it in the mail to go out today – so you should be receiving it very soon!

Ideally you would have received Heidy’s first letter by now, but it sounds like Christmas and the holidays might have slowed things down at the agency a bit. I just spoke with someone who said the shipment with her letter in it should have just arrived to our office, so it too should be on its way to you soon. If I get any more information, I’ll let you know! Again, sorry about the wait and thanks for your patience!

So I received my first letter and some pictures today!  Yeah!  Thanks, CI for all your hard work and dedication to the children around the world.  Guess I'd better get working on my next letter!  :)
