Hi Guys

Was wondering what is your favorite part of being a sponsor? I'm very new to this, but I look forward to the whole experience. I can't wait to start getting letters and getting to know both of my girls. Also watching my girls grow up

I enjoy forming a bond with my kids and giving them opportunities they wouldn't otherwise have.  It's really fulfilling to watch them grow up and become successful young adults!

I wanted to do something after Katrina and decided to sponsor a child with so many to choose from I picked one with my birthday back in 2006 it has been an incredible experience watching my kid grow into an amazing young man hes in college and doing so well- I am in aw of how well he writes and what a beautiful soul he has. We have grown very close and I hope to get him over here in America one day and maybe be able to work here. I love this organization they have always been very helpful. the hardest part for me is not being able to send things to him because of the poverty I  was informed that many kids have things stolen from them etc, but as with most cultures they adapt and make use of what they have but one day I will spoil him when he is done with college as best I can even just to be able to meet him and hug him I never had children and to me he is like my own.

Hi Lisapease - you can send an extra gift of money and your child can buy himself the things he needs/wants, if you're wanting to send him things. You can also send packages directly via USPS (though there is risk of items or the whole package being stolen as you said) or there are some websites like philgrocers where you can buy foods online from the Philippines and they will deliver to CI where your child can pick up the items.
