Just sponsored a new child in Mexico. I had sponsored a child over 20 years ago who was a teenager and letter writing seemed easy for her. This one is 5 years old. I am not sure what to write about for that age. Also, I like to send little things like stickers and bookmarks that I know will be sufficient to fit inside a standard letter. Any suggestions on how to write my first letter and get it on the role. I am really excited to start my communication.

belfadisa, I would recommend introducing yourself by telling her about your family, pets, hobbies, community and asking her the same. I am sure whatever you choose to write about Diane will be delighted to hear from you. Stickers and bookmarks are also great ideas! Welcome back to sponsorship!

Hi, I'm sponsoring a child in the Dominican Republic named Ana, and she's just 3.  I write short cards that are cute and funny, keep it very short, and use visuals as much as possible.  I can't wait to send her the little clothes and toys I've collected, although you have to watch out for claiming monetary value, because they charge over a certain amount, and the family may not be able to pay.  So keep the packages small as possible.

I just wanted to say I asked for a little girl because want to I watch her grow up, and see her through school.
