Hi olean004 - Updates will continue to be posted here: https://www.children.org/see-the-impact/where-we-work/disaster-updates. Right now, the agency in Honduras is working on two phases: Phase 1: Cleanup – includes Trash and Debri cleanup, providing potable water, donating cleaning supplies to families, promoting handwashing to reduce spread of illness and fumigation of mosquitos (standing water leads to increase in mosquito population and results in increases of mosquito born illnesses such as dengue and malaria- already a significant issue in Honduras).
Phase 2: Two food/cash deliveries to affectedfamilies
The government is also providing humanitarian aid in the form of food and setting-up more shelters. Additional information can be found here: http://copeco.gob.hn/
Community centers in Honduras will not open in 2020. It has not been determined when they might be able to open in 2021. The hurricane did cause damage to several centers, which will further delay any reopening.
