I was just browsing through the older children and I came across one that said child unavailable, was just wondering why it said that

Most likely what happened is that someone decided to sponsor that child.

Follow up question. Before I decided who I wanted to sponsor I did the 'Request a Free Informational Kit' for a few kids I had a hard time choose between. After I chose I expected the other children to go back to the "Sponsor" page. But then when I checked back a few days after they were still "Unavailable" So I was wondering if they were sent to some immediately after or if they had to go through the whole process again. Also do they get notified that someone sponsored them if you do the 'Free Informational Kit'?

Once an Information Kit is requested for an online child, that child's information is removed from our website. This is because the child has been assigned to an account created for the sponsor (or potential sponsor). Children are informed they have a new sposnor when we receive the first donation for their sponsorship. If an information kit is requested, we do not inform the child.

So if the sponsor decided to not sponsor said child do they just not get a chance to get sponsored? Would the parent(s) have to reapply for their child(ren) to be able to get sponsored?

Say if a child is dropped by their sponsor, they still stay in the program

Once a child is enrolled in the program, we keep them in the program and they receive the same benefits as they did while they were sponsored. We just don't believe it would be fair to the family or the child to remove them from the program when sponsors cannot continue with their support. We inform the family that the child has a new sposnor once the new sponsor provides their first sponsorship donation.
