We’re a top-rated humanitarian organization focused on ending generational poverty through a proven approach. Children International is both a secular and a non-political organization – our supporters, volunteers, staff, children and families span all beliefs and backgrounds. For nearly 90 years, we’ve developed a high-impact methodology that empowers children and youth to break free from poverty. With your support, children receive access to health care, educational resources and life-changing programs in safe, clean spaces.
Children in poverty often lack access to spaces like playgrounds or recreation centers. They’re also more likely to be exposed to the dangers of violence, gangs and drugs at an early age. Your support allows them to take refuge in one of our 67+ community centers: safe, clean and uplifting spaces where children can learn and grow away from outside stressors.
When you sponsor a child, you change their future, helping them see beyond the daily struggles of poverty. Your support gives children the chance to create a better future not just for themselves, but for their families and communities too. Sponsorship starts a powerful multiplier effect that improves lives, communities and economies around the world.
Your sponsorship encompasses health, social and educational programs and resources, designed to address the specific issues each child faces in their community. This proven, long-term approach helps children and youth tackle challenges that might otherwise hold them back for a lifetime—empowering them to become healthy, educated and productive young adults.
When you sponsor a child, your monthly gift of $39 provides access to life-changing benefits, including medical and dental care, educational support, life-skills training and job-placement assistance after graduation from our program. As a sponsor, you'll see your impact firsthand through letters and photos from your child.
Our community centers show residents that we are there to help — and to stay. And, while sponsorship contributions provide children with access to dynamic services and programs available at our centers, we cover the costs of community center construction and operational support through separate fundraising campaigns.

We’re constantly striving to use your funds responsibly and efficiently. In FY 2022, 81% of Children International’s total operating expenses fund programs for children and youth. So, the majority of your donation dollars go toward exactly what you intended — supporting children in poverty.
Child sponsorship is a voluntary, ongoing contribution you can cancel at anytime — you’re in charge of how long you sponsor (and how many kids you sponsor).
You can make changes to your monthly giving anytime. Please contact our Care Team to adjust, delay, or cancel. And because of our on-going commitment to our children from the time of sponsorship through graduation, your child will continue to receive benefits from the program, and we will work to find them another sponsor as soon as possible.
