Children International Receives 10,000 More Crocs for Poor Children in Ecuador

GUAYAQUIL, Ecuador – The new year kicks off with a gift of “green” Crocs™ shoes to poor children in Ecuador – for some, it’s their first pair of new shoes.

Two sisters receive their new Crocs™ at Children International in Guayaquil.

Brother’s Brother Foundation and Crocs™ donated 10,000 pairs of Crocs™ comfort clogs to impoverished children supported by Children International, a Kansas City-based humanitarian organization. The gift, valued at $100,000, will provide 10,000 children in Guayaquil and Quito with shoes made from recycled materials.

This is Brother’s Brother Foundation’s second donation of Crocs™ in as many months, a gift that will help children lead healthier lives. It is common for poor children throughout the world to go barefoot – which often results in serious parasitic and skin infections.

The Foundation has a long-standing relationship with Children International. Brother’s Brother has donated $3.5 million in product donations to Children International since 2005.

Luke Hingson, President of Brother’s Brother Foundation, said, “We are delighted to make the second donation of Crocs™ to Children International. Part of our common belief is that children should be protected in the simplest ways and one way is to protect their feet from disease and the cold.”

This sponsored girl cannot wait to take her Crocs home.

James R. Cook, President and CEO of Children International said, “Brother’s Brother Foundation and Crocs™ have once again proven their dedication to helping poor children around the world. We are extremely grateful for their generosity in helping the world’s children – our most precious commodity.”
