Raising dough in Honduras:
Dania’s baking business

underprivileged youth like Dania SUCCESSFULLY GRADUATE AS ENTREPRENEURS

For youth living in disadvantaged communities in Honduras, job and career opportunities are a rarity.

Thanks to Children International’s employability programs, which include career counseling, job training, resume-writing, scholarships for technical school or college, and more, youth like Dania are creating their own paths away from poverty.

In Dania’s case, she is turning a storied family tradition of baking artisan breads and cakes into a small but growing business. As you’ll see in the video below, however, one tradition this 22-year-old former sponsored girl is determined to break is her family’s history of generational poverty.
